HOW TO BUILD A BLUE TONAL WARDROBE
Build a tonal wardrobe and you'll no longer have to ask yourself, "What am I going to wear today?" The answer is already in your closet.

Before my 6ixties fashion epiphany, I really didn't know what to wear. Too often (like many women) I would opt for yoga pants and a top of some sort.
I was reminded of this yesterday when I met up with Donna, a naturopathic doctor who is just turning fifty. In her role she meets with clients all day long, but isn't confident about how to present herself.

She perked up on seeing my powder blue, movie star coat, but she confessed that fashion has taken a back seat in her life. Since she'd gained a few pounds, she was putting fashion on hold until she could shed the extra weight. Although she is a beautiful woman, she was wearing yoga pants and a nice but uninspired grey sweater.
Dear Reader, you know that Donna may never lose those few pounds. But, fashion doesn't stop because you're not at your "ideal" weight. (A weight you might have been in your twenties!) What if Donna embraced the body she has now and learned how to dress it in a pleasing way?

An easy way for Donna to start would be to build a tonal wardrobe. With a closet like that, she could rock it every day wearing marvellous outfits that would reflect the smart, confident, attractive woman that she is right now.

This is how I built an outfit from my blue, blue, blue wardrobe. I started with basic blue wide-leg pants and a tonal-matching T-shirt. Then I played with a variety of third pieces to jazz it up. (And note how the length of the duster sweater adds height to the look.)

See? It's easy! Now get out there and start building your own blue tonal wardrobe!
