HAPPY IN YELLOW
"How wonderful yellow is. It stands for the sun." –Vincent van Gogh

Yellow makes me so happy. Is it because it's the colour of sunshine?
Whatever the reason, I'm not the only yellow worshipper. Give a child a box of crayons and they'll reach for the yellow one, drawing a big sun with rays flowing out. Wear yellow and your spirit will be lifted.

"How wonderful yellow is. It stands for the sun," said that master of Impressionist colour, Vincent van Gogh. Remember when his sunflower painting sold for $39 million? And that was back in 1987! Like I said, everyone loves yellow. Pantone recently chose a bright, sunny yellow as its official Color of the Year. (The yellow is called Illuminating, and it's Pantone number 13-0647.)
The swinging sixties is a great time to explore yellow. There is such a huge array of shades to choose — from saffron to buttermilk. It’s all about finding the shade you're drawn to and that you brings you joy.

This buttercup top with scallop edging (in the photo below) pairs beautifully with white jeans. Instead of automatically choosing black, I urge you to try reaching out for white instead. White instantly brightens you like no makeup can and adds a clean, crisp look.
You're only as old as your yellow !
A classic white blazer and a gold chain belt add just a soupçon of sparkle. Yellow, white, and gold are a winning combination. My petite pale egg-yolk coloured crossover bag brings it all together.

Just for fun, I tried the yellow-flavoured outfit with Si Rossi orange platforms from Italy. I love the height these give me and I love the shape of the heels. Sergio Rossi is a luxury brand that's been around for seventy years; their Si Rossi line was launched to appeal to a younger audience. I guess that's us!
You can see the influence of the 1970s in the bold signature platform reminiscent of the era. Yellow and orange clearly are another great combination

In your swinging sixties steer clear of sad, overworn dark outfits. They can be downright depressing. Instead, swap them out for bright white and yellow for a dose of eye-catching cool. You're only as old as your yellow!
