FERRY FASHION FOLIES
I went on a short road trip. Of course, when you live on an island, a road trip starts with a boat trip...

And so I set sail on a ferry-trip adventure under dazzling blue skies. And what better way to sparkle in the sunshine than with sequins?
My fashion vision for this voyage was a movie star from the 1920s crossing the Atlantic with a trunkful of colorful, shiny clothes.

The sequined cardigan is a great place to start the fun. It adds instant shine and POW to the layered look. Underneath, I'm wearing a Zara burgundy body suit with wide leg black trousers. The sequin belt is a subtle detail that helps to connect the dots in my sailing adventure look.

Faux fur has made a huge comeback and is the perfect choice to protect your skin from chilly sea breezes. When the coat is done I'm warm and cozy, but when undone it frames my figure and the outfit.
This look brings me such joy. The silver scarf flutters in the wind and helps to catch glimmers of sunlight to my complexion.

It's so important to wear things that bring you happiness and inject a bit of playfulness and fun into your day. Why wear a boring black coat when you can zhuzh it up with faux fur, sparkle, and sequins?

You don't want too much going on, but this ensemble achieves balance for a few reasons —
It shows off a flattering silhouette. I'm not lost in a sea of fabric or too many colours.
The black/silver/burgundy palette is grounded and the gold shoes anchor the look.
Other joyful details are the shiny red toe nails and the silver-and-gold dangling earrings.
Ahoy!
