1. Choose a Cropped, Colourful Puffer

Unless you're hiking up Kilimanjaro via the Marangu Route there's no place in your day for nylon or fleece jackets. Faux fur coats and shapely puffer jackets work just as well for warmth and comfort yet are so much stylish — whether you're at the grocery store, running errands, or walking to yoga class

Going green from head to toe is always a good idea.

2. Go Tonal – Top to Toe in One Colour

As you know by now, catsuits are fashion staple for me. This green T-shirt and stretch leggings are the perfect way to start an outfit. 3. Wear Scarves Only For Warmth

For many years I thought scarves made an outfit, but now I've learned that they are accents to be used sparingly. Sure, wear a warm scarf when it's cold outside, but don't let it become a fashion crutch.

4. Strip Down the Jewelery

You know exactly who I'm talking about – the lady "of a certain age" with long polished nails, stacks of rings, bracelets a-tinkling, and strands of costume jewellery covering a flower-patterned blouse. It's all too much. The eye doesn't know where to land and it's all so very aging. Rather than risk arrest for bling excess, take off half of the accoutrements. Let simplicity rule!

5. Opt for Platforms instead of High Heels

High heels are another accessory that can turn an otherwise stylish outfit into something old-fashioned and dated. Come on, they're not even comfortable, and they make women in their sixties look matronly! Instead, swap the high heels for a flattering wedge or a 4-inch platform.
